After his 10th Standard, Charu completed his Tool and Die Making Diploma from NTTF Dharwad (1979-83) and moved to Pune to seek employment. He gained experience in various industries for five years before starting his own business. During this time, he educated himself in all aspects of setting up a business.
In 1988, he founded Nirmiti Tool Room and Engineers, a small rented unit at Bhosari MIDC, specializing in Stamping Dies, Jigs, and Fixtures. Over the years, the company expanded and was renamed Nirmiti Auto Components Private Limited, designing and manufacturing pedal systems for various cars. The company now operates in Pune, Pantnagar, and a new facility under construction in Dharwad.
With a group sales of INR 80 Crores and over 250 employees, Nirmiti has earned prestigious certifications like TS 16949 and OHSAS 18001, and has formed a Swedish collaboration. With increasing customer demand for multi-location facilities, the company has begun steps towards going public.
